AlloyDB – Google
Google’s AlloyDB is a fully managed, high-performance database service based on PostgreSQL and designed for large workloads. It uses a cloud-based multi-node architecture to ensure scalability, high availability and reliability. Clusters contain primary instances for read/write operations and optional read pool instances for load balancing, with scalability and performance benefits. AlloyDB includes features such as automatic indexing, a columnar engine for analytic queries, and adaptive memory management. More information can be found in the official documentation.
EnterpriseDB
EDB Postgres AI is an intelligent platform based on Postgres, for transactional, analytical, and AI workloads that meets customers wherever they are. It works and it’s portable across on premises, any cloud (on IaaS, K8s and as DBaaS) and on appliances of choice, no platform, licensing or infrastructure lock-in. EDB provides vendor support to Postgres itself, with unique commit to answer and resolutions of issues related to the database engine and the managed service itself (when on DBaaS). EDB is all around Postgres, being the major community contributor and adding up enterprise level features (Transparent Data Encryption, Enterprise Manager, MultiMaster PG Distributed) and services (RemoteDBA, TAM, ProServ, Vendor Support and Training). EDB offering is also available on any Cloud Marketplace, to ease procurement via existing Cloud Committed Spend and familiar purchase process/channel.
